  • this will be the first time in my life that i have ever genuinely said this, and hopefully the last. i've had way too much coffee today. i'll let you guess the cups in total. i'm too ashamed to say.

yet i'm still ready to crash in bed, and it's only 8:30pm.

  • i've switched paper topics. i met a grad student from my class in the library on saturday night, and he gave me an anthology of works that i'll be able to use. one should never have to go to the library on a saturday night.

i must survive this week. i have a huge midterm, this paper, a final, a project, a project proposal, and several small essays. hoo boy. "i will survive!" yeah, gloria gaynor.

this morning i had youth band practice, and i was in nursery after that. the college kids had lunch together at the Bulls' place. it was great. we have such great people at our church. they totally take care of us.

must go study. must go survive. i am overwhelmed. but so is everyone else here, so i'm not alone.

  • horrible paper to write. don't know how to write it. anyone an expert on where to find sermons by reginald pole?

February 22, 2006

  • i got an internship.

    praise the Lord!!

now we have a week and a half until spring break. two huge exams, one huge paper, several small assignments, a game night, worship band practice, nursery, friends. it's going to be an insane two weeks.

  • today's weather: -2 F, feels like -21 F.

    boo yeah.

February 15, 2006

  • oh, homework. not too bad, actually, but it's going to come in torrents in these last few weeks before spring break.

i'm developing weight lifting blisters on my hands. we just started a new cycle this week, which means we now lift six days a week. i'll be lifting with a bunch of other people at 8am on saturdays. can i hear a boo yeah for taking advantage of daylight hours?...yeah, i didn't think i'd get one. considering that i have to get 7 1/2 hours of sleep a night, this could make friday nights difficult.

overall, life's going well. my dsg has a fun weekend planned. half of my apartment will be away for presidents' day weekend -- just in time for amy and emily to come! i'm so happy about the holiday on monday. we should have holidays all the time!

please lift me up in prayer concerning my internship for this summer.

  • just returned from a wonderful evening of indian cuisine and settlers at dan and aaron's apartment. dan is officially one of the best cooks that i know (and i only say one of them because i also know drewford). i lost big time in settlers. i was pretty much persecuted by one who will remain nameless...just wait til next time. at least joel didn't win. =] church comes early on sunday mornings, though, so it was time to call it a night.

it's been a good weekend. i just wish it would last a little longer.

February 7, 2006

  • no classes today. boo yeah for faculty development days. professors may not like the meetings, but i LOVE the days off.

my knee hurts pretty badly. i don't know what i did today, but something happened during lifting. i didn't even hurt directly afterwards, but by dinnertime it was kind of bad, and it's getting worse. i am really worried, because if my knee goes then i can't do a LOT of the exercises for class. it's actually okay as long as i don't do any sideways motion with it, like crossing my legs. why do these things always happen to me??

  • nine thirty am and i'm off to the gym! the schedule for my body comp class is much more set in stone now, and it's great to finally have it down pat. last night i was SOOO tired from a long week that i spent the evening copying recipes from some magazines! on a friday night! i know, i know...

ps and slash, happy belated birthday, maried! we love you!

  • note to the public: i did win in settlers. but joel stole all of the joy of winning. people in surrounding apartments were probably worried when they heard five people yelling at each other their opinions of the end of the game.

yes, we're serious about settlers. and yes, you probably should be worried.

tonight i have a large-ish writing assignment due for origins, but it's pretty much the first writing assignment i've had all semester, so i can't complain. we started a new rotation today in body comp. yeah for new music! i'm loving the eiffel 65. i've decided that i'm a wimpy squatter.
